An Eagle Pass man was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months in federal prison for his role in trying to deliver 67 assault rifles and ammunition to the Zetas cartel.

Jesus perez had just turned 18 when guadalupe county sheriff’s deputies intercepted the load last july near seguin as perez and others drove it from Houston toward Eagle pass.
